Initial situation

What was the situation up to now?

The Swiss company Curaden AG is internationally operating in the field of dental products and oral hygiene. The company has branches and distribution partners in over 90 countries. The challenge for Curaden is to coordinate the production planning of its dental products with the needs of markets that are developing at different rates. To this end, a forecast sheet in Excel format for the following year was sent to the national subsidiaries each fall. Checking the responses was time-consuming, the response rate left room for improvement, and the sometimes poor data quality led to unnecessary queries and corrections. Curaden therefore decided to introduce a digital solution for demand planning and control.

Customer benefits

What has improved as a result of the solution?

With the new web solution, sales companies can enter their planned order quantities online. The monthly data is recorded on a rolling basis for 1.5 years in advance, checked for plausibility, and collated centrally. Orders are triggered automatically and transferred to production planning in SAP. Countries also budget and report their monthly sales figures (sell-out) online. The ongoing comparison of order forecasts with actual sales increases transparency and enables Curaden to improve its demand and production planning.
