Transaction Hub: transparent data streams in heterogeneous system environments

Initial situation

What was the situation up to now?

The Swiss company Curaden AG sells its dental products worldwide through dentists, pharmacies, and other channels, or directly to end customers via B2C shops. Order data flows from the shops to the respective ERP systems in each country, from where it is forwarded for delivery. Since the more than 50 national subsidiaries and distribution partners each use their own ERP and CRM systems, the challenge for Curaden is to obtain an up-to-date overview of actual and planned sales at all times, which is an important prerequisite for budget tracking and production planning.

Until now, data exchange has taken place either via bilateral interfaces between individual local systems or in the traditional way via Excel reporting. The country-specific heterogeneous system structures and poor data quality made data consolidation difficult and caused a lot of unnecessary manual effort. Curaden was therefore looking for a concept that would allow data to be managed decentrally in different systems, but still be available centrally in a timely, quality-checked, and standardized manner.

What has improved as a result of the solution?

As a solution, Curaden developed the central data exchange platform “Transaction Hub,” which automatically and uniformly distributes data worldwide between its own and partner systems. This includes orders and customer data, which are automatically transferred from country-specific B2B and B2C shops to the respective ERP systems. To support sales, the data is also synchronized with the CRM systems. Automated data exchange improves data quality and enables Curaden to perform central monitoring and uniform reporting based on transaction data that is updated daily.
