At Swisscom (Schweiz) AG, changes to products and releases were implemented using the waterfall methodology in the past. In recent years, however, the need for an agile way of working has increased in order to be able to react more quickly to changing customer needs and make product adjustments. In order to better address the complexity of the requirements as well as the technological change, several development as well as operation teams of different BMC ticketing applications were merged into one large Enterprise Service Management (ESM) organization (Tribe).
Within the entire Swisscom ESM, FROX AG was able to contribute its extensive experience in agile working methods to the development of the organization and support the Tribe in various roles in daily project business over several years: as Product Owner (PO) and DevOps Engineer within the individual Scrum teams, across teams in architecture issues and in Virtual Product Management (VPM).
In terms of delivery times and timeliness of requirements and technology, instead of 4 ALL-IP releases per year, there are now 12 managed releases spread throughout the year. This agile way of working enables, among other things, faster feedback regarding the feasibility of adjustments and rough scheduling, shorter feature waiting times and a faster process between the input of requirements and the start of development.
On behalf of Swisscom, Urs Bircher, Product Manager ESM at Swisscom, was very satisfied with our service: “In cooperation with FROX AG, we were able to comprehensively improve ITSM and significantly accelerate organizational processes. We greatly appreciate the teamwork, the professional exchange and the intensive support of FROX and would like to thank them for their many years of cooperation in a spirit of partnership.”
