Web solution for better coordination between demand and production
Swiss-based Curaden AG is a global company specializing in dental products and oral hygiene. With branches and distribution partners in over 90 countries, production planning for Curaden is complex and crucial to the company’s business success. The previous process for recording demand in markets with varying trends was costly, error-prone, and time-consuming: response rates needed improvement, data quality was not always satisfactory, and frequent queries and manual corrections were required. To gain efficiency and transparency, Curaden opted for a digital solution that would enable it to optimize demand planning and control.
From Excel spreadsheets to digital forecasting
The new web solution based on the Axon Ivy process automation platform enables sales companies to enter their planned order quantities directly online instead of using Excel spreadsheets as before. Forecast data is recorded, validated, and centrally consolidated on a rolling basis for 1.5 years in advance. The digital forecasting process thus enables, among other things, simplified comparison of demand and production planning, integrated order control with order quantity limits, and graphical representation of the forecast data. In addition, the national companies can budget and report their monthly sales figures (sell-out) online.
By digitizing the forecasting process and continuously comparing order forecasts with actual sales, Curaden has been able to significantly improve the coordination between demand and production. As a digitization partner, we implemented this digital process portal and successfully introduced it step by step together with Curaden.
